unmask is my final research project, created during my last semester of studies. Inspired by the underrepresented experiences of women with ADHD and the common struggle of late diagnosis, unmask is a visually engaging anthology of personal stories that aims to foster empathy and raise awareness. The design embraces imperfection, using unconventional layouts and varied illustrative styles to mirror ADHD symptoms and capture each author’s voice authentically. Hand-drawn elements and a limited, jarring colour palette simulate inattention, while shifting visual hierarchies guide the viewer through a fragmented, immersive experience. Unmask seeks to challenge perceptions and provide a supportive space for these often unheard voices.
